2023-2024
Status: Completed
Location: East Hampton NY, USA
Client: Private
Program: Private Residence
Scope: Renovation/Expansion
Design Concept and Organization
Originally built in the 1970s, the house was inward-facing and spatially disconnected from its natural surroundings. The renovation reimagines the home as an open and inviting retreat, seamlessly connected to the outdoors. A generous wooden deck now extends the living space, creating an expansive outdoor living area equipped with a variety of amenities for relaxation and entertaining.
To harmonize with the surrounding forest, the existing structure was repainted in black, allowing it to recede into the landscape. In contrast, the interior was transformed into a bright and luminous environment, energized by enlarged glazing, vibrant custom millwork and a thoughtful palette that enhances the home’s playful and contemporary character.
