Project Description

Designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, Eighty Seven Park is an 18-story residential tower, located just north of North Beach Oceanside Park and North Shore Park Beach, at the city limits of Miami Beach.

The tower is oriented east-west maximizing sightlines from Harding Avenue and Collins Avenue towards the ocean, and providing every residential unit with direct ocean views.

The building footprint is minimized and the volume is lifted, freeing up the ground plane as a visual extension to the park, as well as providing many amenities to the occupants. Lush native vegetation preserves and enhances the coastal landscape.

The lobby of the building is open and luminous. The limits between interior and exterior are blurred, with highly transparent floor to ceiling glass façades and glass mullions.  Plantings extend from outdoors to indoors, underscoring the continuity of the ground plane.

In the residential units above, 10-foot floor to ceiling glass sliding façades open to expansive outdoor terraces, offering dramatic views of the Atlantic Ocean.  Open floor plans and elaborate contemporary finishes provide a sophisticated living experience where indoors and outdoors are always connected.

Role in the project:

Serge Drouin was the Associate in Charge of the exterior envelope of the building.
